Frequently asked questions

  • I’m unable to accept insurance at this time, but I am happy to send a superbill to your insurance. I have a few sliding scale spots open for a reduced rate, please contact me if you have questions.

  • Consultations can feel awkward! What are you supposed to say? Are you asking the right questions? I totally get it. During our consultation, I’ll usually ask what brings you to therapy, what kind of stuff you’re going through, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. Consultations are for us to see if we’re a good fit — finding the right therapist can sometimes take a few tries. Here are some questions I might ask during our consultation call:

    • What are you looking for out of therapy?

    • What brings you to therapy now?

    • Have you been in therapy before? What was your experience like?

    • Are you seeking in-person or remote services?

  • This is totally dependent on the individual and the work we’re doing together. In the beginning, I like to suggest at least 4-6 sessions to start. I find this to be a good place to begin where we can start getting into the work. However, I’m open to seeing clients who are seeking only 1-2 sessions to manage a difficulty in their life. Ideally, we get you to a place where you “graduate” from therapy — I aim to provide therapy for as long as I think it’s useful and for as long as you feel it’s useful.

  • While this is also dependent on the individual, I generally suggest we meet weekly and go from there unless more frequent sessions are desired or needed. Generally, it’s helpful to start with more sessions and then taper down as time goes on. This can typically look like 1-2 months of weekly sessions and then going to 2 sessions per month if we feel like that’s helpful or beneficial.

  • I typically work in the early afternoons - evenings! If you have a very tight schedule, feel free to reach out and we can discuss flexibility.

  • I have open slots for Saturday early afternoon appointments for limited clients, generally couples. Please feel free to reach out if you have questions about this.

  • No problem! I have a 24 hour cancellation policy in place. I just ask that you send me a message at least 24 hours in advance (email / text / call) to let me know you can’t make it. I know things can get really hectic, so am understanding of last minute emergencies as well. If you’re not able to notify me 24 hours ahead of time and cancel, you’ll be responsible for paying the full price for the missed session. This is mostly so that I can sustainably offer therapy and helps you stay engaged in the process.
