About me
Hello! My name is Olivea (oh-liv-ee-uh) Zimmerman (she/her/hers) and I’m glad you are here. I’m a registered Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (#144171) based in the East Bay, CA. I’m supervised by Michelle Ritenour (LMFT#51357) and employed by Ritenour Counseling. I serve primarily the Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, and San Ramon areas as well as providing telehealth. I offer individual therapy and couples counseling to clients seeking to enter into counseling.
I have a bachelor’s in English from UC Berkeley and a master’s in Counseling Psychology from The Wright University. I love therapy and love connecting with my clients to help them find ways to achieve their goals and untangle hard and difficult situations. I also know how it can feel to try and find a new therapist and totally understand the anxiety and worry that comes with that, so congratulations on taking a big step towards healing!
As a therapist, I try to bring humor, joy, laughter and straightforwardness into the room. I try to fit my therapy style to fit the client’s needs and pull from a lot of different modalities. My favorite therapeutic styles to pull from include Narrative, Relational, Psychodynamic, CBT, and ACT. I enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, and couples who are seeking therapy. My therapy space is an LGBTQIA+, sex positive, trauma-informed and body positive space.
In my spare time, I love to mess around with resin projects, board games, videogames, reading, hiking, camping, and cooking! I have two small dogs that I wish were well-behaved enough to be therapy dogs, but have accepted it’s just not in the cards for them (or me). Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions and I look forward to getting to know you!
